best time of year, worldwide!

To Autumn
by John Keats

Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells.

Who hath not seen thee oft amid thy store?
Sometimes whoever seeks abroad may find
Thee sitting careless on a granary floor,
Thy hair soft-lifted by the winnowing wind;
Or on a half-reap'd furrow sound asleep,
Drows'd with the fume of poppies, while thy hook
Spares the next swath and all its twined flowers:
And sometimes like a gleaner thou dost keep
Steady thy laden head across a brook;
Or by a cyder-press, with patient look,
Thou watchest the last oozings hours by hours.

Where are the songs of Spring? Ay, where are they?
Think not of them, thou hast thy music too,--
While barred clouds bloom the soft-dying day,
And touch the stubble plains with rosy hue;
Then in a wailful choir the small gnats mourn
Among the river sallows, borne aloft
Or sinking as the light wind lives or dies;
And full-grown lambs loud bleat from hilly bourn;
Hedge-crickets sing; and now with treble soft
The red-breast whistles from a garden-croft;
And gathering swallows twitter in the skies. Posted by Picasa

Hey Dave - Nice poem...Youre right that it is a nice time of year...I might steal your photos!!!

From a superior athlete and faster runner. Here's a nice poem for you.

"I have wrestled with an aligator
Tussled with a whale,
Hancuffed lightning,
Thrown thunder in jail, (thats bad)

Last week a murdered a rock,
Injured a stone,
Hospitalised a brick,
I'm so mean I make medicine sick!

Last night I turned off the light switch and was in my bed before the lights went out - thats fast!"
(Ali - Before rumble in the jungle)

As you know from Saturday, I can run fast for hours. While you were hibernating in goal I was becoming more and more superior as a runner.

Are you scared? I WOULD BE :-)

yeah yeah, stubbs, i've heard that one some three times now. i've got a feeling your running talents are about as mundane as your taunts have become. though i do commend you for your unabated confidence; it's...well, it's quite kind of cute, pete. you are the paradigm of hope, like a child determined to do a grown-up's work. i look at your hopeless positivism and want to smile, pat you on the head, and maybe give you a nickel.

and another thing. if you really think 10-15 seconds of sprints followed by close to a minute of really light jogging is "becoming more and more superior as a runner" well, i kind of want to give you another pat on the head and throw in a shiny new penny also...ganbatte my friend

I guess you could say that I can't decide the best colour either... Leaves or Festivals. I took sooooo many photos at both.
