the onsen itself is one of the oldest in japan. it was an amazing building and nice, if really hot, onsen.

Was it worth it?
i think i like the actual town of matsuyama more than the actual onsen. there is a beautiful castle and some great parks around town. that said, it was cool soaking in such a historical onsen, even if it was REALLY hot water.
sorry i missed you b-day, we were too busy working our way back from shikoku...happy b-day!
